I’ll just come out and say it. I rethought some things. Some people (like people who are much smarter than me) might call it a re-brand but I’m sticking with a rethink. Or in this case, a rethought since I already thought it.
I’ve been a life coach for five years. In that time, a lot has changed. I found my actual biological father, a pandemic started, I ran an ultra, I started fishing and I finally got a handle on my laundry room (really a closet but people like to have a room that they entirely devote to laundry which as I say it, sounds so ludicrous even to me). Sure. Other things happened. I’m being cheeky. Oh yah, I also cut my own hair during an Ignite talk last December. Notice how I linked to it. Brilliant right? I’m so catching up to 2004.
Anyway. I was driving through Nowhere, Wyoming a few weeks back and had what Oprah likes to call, an Aha! moment. I realized that I don’t want to charge people $90.00 an hour for coaching. I also realized that my eyebrows have grown together so there’s that. I’m always going on and on about equity and accessibility. I know that many people still can’t afford what I will charge (the tension and curiosity are building aren’t they?). I’ve given a lot of free coaching. I’ve gifted coaching. I’ve listened (and talked) for long past the hour. I’ve also coached people who haven’t asked for it. (wink wink) But as I begin my sixth year of coaching, I’ve decided to be better for less. I know, right? Kind of boggles the mind.
So, here’s the deal. I know my clients will be wondering; everyone will pay the same rate. I know. Who does that? Lowers their price even for the people who’ve been paying MORE for years. And I should mention that most of my clients have been with me for 3-5 years. I want anyone who wants coaching to have it. I know $65.00/hour still isn’t cheap so if you need time with me and you still can’t swing that amount, you should ask. Advocating for yourself is a wonderful life skill! That was actually free life coaching right there.
I’m so excited to charge you less. I haven’t been this excited since I realized that my summer clothes still fit after a spring season of covid. Here is what you can count on from me:
I will care about you.
I will make you care about you.
I will challenge you and the beliefs you think are true.
I will make you laugh.
And, I may laugh at you.
